About Us
Beaconsfield Kindergarten offers free Victorian Government funded kindergarten programs to three- and four-year-old children across two campuses. We are a not-for-profit community-run kindergarten managed by a volunteer parent committee, in collaboration with our Centre Manager and leadership team.
Enrolment Process
To register your child for 3-year-old or 4-year-old kindergarten, please complete your registration through the Cardinia Shire Central Registration Scheme.
Both our Woods St and OโNeil Rd services continue to be rated as โExceeding the National Quality Standardโ.
At our kindergarten, we understand that learning is deeply social. Guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) and National Quality Standards (NQS), we recognise that strong, respectful relationships are the foundation for all learning. Educators play a vital role in creating meaningful learning contexts through joint attention, shared thinking, and responsive interactions.
We value consistent and predictable routines that promote emotional wellbeing, confidence, and engagement in our learners. Our play-based curriculum, developed in close collaboration with families, blends child-directed, adult-led, and guided learning experiences, both indoors and outdoors. Long periods of uninterrupted play, small and large group activities, and responsive mealtime routines form the rhythm of our day.
We value our partnerships with families and recognise the vital role they play in their childโs learning. Families are encouraged to share their insights into their childโs strengths, challenges, and aspirations, which educators use to inform thoughtful and responsive program planning. We actively welcome family participation whether through parent duty, planned events, or informal visits and deeply value the knowledge, experiences, and contributions families bring to our kindergarten community.
Our kindergarten thrives on the strong, collaborative relationships between educators, families, the committee, and the broader community. Together, we ensure our program reflects our shared commitment to quality, inclusive early education.

As an inclusive centre, we strive to:
- ๐ฑ Encourage the involvement of our families in developing individual learning plans to meet the needs of their children.
- ๐ฑ Recognise the valuable resources parents possess and invite them to share their skills and knowledge with our kindergarten.
- ๐ฑ Encourage the involvement of parents and extended family in our daily sessions.
- ๐ฑ Welcome children with additional needs and their families.
- ๐ฑ Work with families to achieve high expectations for every child. We recognise each child's strengths and interests and extend/support these through providing experiences within the program, and differentiating the program to ensure that all children experience success and that these are celebrated amongst our group and with the child's family.
We believe children thrive best when the environment:
- โ Has agreed boundaries, limits and consequences.
- โ Has familiar routines and expectations.
- โ Encourages children to participate in both planned and self-initiated learning experiences.
- โ Provides rich literacy and numeracy experiences each day.
- โ Provides opportunities to enjoy special days and events at kindergarten with peers and family.
- โ Introduces children to a wide range of individuals or groups working within our community.
- โ Promotes and values educators, children and their families as lifelong learners and researchers.
National Quality Framework โ Exceeding the National Quality Standard
Both of our Beaconsfield Kindergarten services are rated as Exceeding National Quality Standard under the National Quality Framework. The National Quality Standard (NQS) sets a national benchmark for the quality of children's education and care services across Australia.
Services are assessed against the NQS by the state or territory regulatory authority and receive a rating for each of the seven quality areas of the NQS, including the education program, health and safety, physical environment, staffing, relationships with children, families and communities, and the management of the service; as well as an overall rating.
Achievement Program
Beaconsfield Kindergarten is very proud to have achieved all six Health Priority Areas of the Victorian Government's Achievement Program. The Achievement Program supports Victorian workplaces, schools and early childhood services to create healthy places for working, learning and living.
Philosophy
INCLUSION
Beaconsfield Kindergarten prides itself on providing an environment where everybody belongs. We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples as Australia's First Peoples and ensure a culture of child safety. We recognise and value the experience and contributions each family brings. We actively practice respect, acceptance and inclusion, valuing each child's strengths and differences. Educators promote and support high expectations to maximise learning opportunities for children of all abilities.
ENVIRONMENT
Beaconsfield Kindergarten provides rich, stimulating and nurturing environments where children can take ownership and be active participants in their learning. Environments are flexible and encourage children to explore, question and problem solve in a cooperative, collaborative and creative manner. We embrace nature play, encouraging children to develop a love of and respect for the natural environment. Through bush kinder, educators support children's connection with community spaces as a place for learning.
COMMUNITY
Beaconsfield Kindergarten is proudly a community-based kindergarten with strong, established links to our local schools, council, essential services and community groups. All members of our kindergarten community, including children, families, staff and our Committee of Management, work collaboratively to ensure our service remains a respected and high-quality provider of early education programs. Active family engagement is encouraged and contributes to a meaningful community spirit within our service.
RELATIONSHIPS
Beaconsfield Kindergarten is a child and family centred service that values positive and respectful relationships. We welcome the cultures, languages and traditions of our community, supporting a strong sense of belonging for children, families and educators. Educators are committed to open communication, sharing each child's learning and development with families. We respect the individuality, knowledge and experience each member of our team brings. Educators model and guide positive behaviour, scaffold learning and support each child's wellbeing through high-quality interactions.
PLAY
Our kinder embraces the benefits of a play-based program to nurture a love of learning in each child. Children's agency is developed as they are encouraged to follow their own interests, being active, curious and engaged participants in the learning program. Through play, children make sense of the world around them and develop life skills. Play makes learning fun!!
LEARNING
Educators value the learning that occurs within each child's family prior to their commencement at kindergarten. We believe collaboration with families is integral to high-quality educational programs that optimise each child's potential. A continuous cycle of planning underpins our learning programs, including a flexible balance of child-directed learning experiences and those led by our educators. Our staffing team is committed to furthering their own professional knowledge and skills, and individual growth, learning and team cooperation are encouraged and supported.
Beaconsfield Kindergarten acknowledges the Bunurong People, as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we play, work and learn. We pay our respects to their Elders, past and present, and acknowledge their deep connections to Country and culture.
